About Tritia
Before I ever supported a birth, I supported learning. I spent 20 years in education, guiding adults to be better teachers, coaches, and community leaders. That work taught me:The person in front of you already has wisdom. The job is to listen closely enough to hear it. These beliefs shape everything I do as a doula.
I am a mother of two. My personal pregnancy, birth, and postpartum experiences span the spectrum: vaginal births with and without medical intervention, exclusive breastfeeding, mixed feeding (breast + bottle), postpartum anxiety and depression, miscarriage, and abortion. These experiences allow me to meet you where you are without an agenda.
I’ve lived and worked as a doula on 4 continents, and attended births in hospital and home giving me a broader lens on how policies, protocols, habits, and culture influence birth. I have firsthand experience of the two most common models of maternity care, the U.S. and the UK.
I was an expat myself in New Zealand when I started my family. I founded Maternal Legacy with special care for expatriates, women of color, and anyone far from familiar systems, language, culture, or family. I relate to feeling both far from home and exactly where you need to be. Together, we can journey through your pregnancy, birth, and postpartum so that you feel seen, knowledgable, and confident about what is right for you, wherever you are.
