Maternal Legacy
I am a certified birth and postpartum doula living in the southwest district working with mothers in Washington D.C., Maryland, and Virginia and serving mothers worldwide. I founded Maternal Legacy as a birth and postpartum doula practice because pregnancy doesn’t just grow a baby, it grows a mother.
Maternal Legacy means seeing each pregnancy as an opportunity to honor, tend to, and transform what you’ve inherited and intentionally shape who you become as a mother, as well as what you pass on to your children.
As your doula, I provide evidence-based birth support, grounded in physiology, shaped by lived experience, and expanded by a global understanding of how women can be cared for when systems work with them.
I am especially passionate about working with expatriates and women of color. Becoming a mother in an unfamiliar country or in systems that have not always centered our voices can be both beautiful and daunting. Thoughtful, evidence-based support can make all the difference.
As a Filipino-American doula, supporting our community is personal to me. Let’s reconnect with cultural practices around pregnancy, birth, and postpartum in ways that feel grounded, modern, and empowering.
I am available in-person for clients in Washington D.C., Maryland, and Virginia. I work virtually with clients worldwide and reserve select availability each year to travel for in-person birth and postpartum support.
Hi, I’m Tritia
What does a doula do?
Pregnancy & birth support
A doula provides hands-on comfort during labor, emotional support, and evidence-based guidance to support your well-being while your medical team handles clinical care.
Prepare you for motherhood
A doula helps with personalized birth planning, postpartum recovery tips, and evidence-based information while honoring your cultural traditions and heritage.
Advocacy & empowerment
A doula doesn’t make decisions for you instead, they help you explore your options, communicate with your care team, and make informed choices that feel right for you.
I’d love to hear from you
